4-H Youth Archery Program
Broncos “On–Target” Archery Team
Instructional practice sessions and activities held at Mudjaw Bowmen for Lucas County youth archers ages 9 and in the 3rd grade thru age 18 – Team now in its 8th year.
Annually, our sessions begin in September/October and goes through mid- July ending with the project judging during the Lucas County Fair.
Learn archery skills and the art of shooting from 4-H certified archery instructors along with becoming a team member of the Broncos 4-H Club and the Lucas County 4-H Youth Development program.
Hands-on activities with shooting and competitions are all part of the “learn by doing” teachings of 4-H and this project. Our members are encouraged to participate at Mudjaw’s open shoots and educational activities as part of their learning experiences.
The Broncos also offers a 4-H Clover Bud Archery Program, for youth ages 7-8 and not in the 3rd grade. These youth will receive the same instruction as the older youth, but will be taking the Basic 4-H Archery project instead of the Shooting Sports Archery project. Membership is limited for the Clover Bud Project.
At the practice sessions we have archery equipment to use, or bring your own.
We are always accepting new members, but final membership and project enrollment. for all ages, is each February.
For more information and schedule about this exiting project please contact Mary Lillie, Lucas County 4-H SS Archery Coordinator and Broncos Head Advisor at: Lillie8164@frontier.com.
